Miami native Enrique Murciano Jr., Columbus High class of '91, plays an FBI agent in Without a Trace, the new CBS series about the bureau's Missing Persons Squad. His character, Danny Taylor, is "intense and private," according to CBS' website.

Murciano, 29, became enchanted with acting at 14 -- while watching Andy Garcia in The Untouchables at Miracle Theater in Coral Gables. "He shoots the bad guy. I remember being overwhelmed by how cool he was, how smooth."

Murciano attended New England School of Law, but bailed out after a year -- and moved to L.A. where he racked up big screen credits. He played a young honeymooner in Speed 2, a DEA agent in Traffic, and a Marine sergeant in Black Hawk Down. Jerry Bruckheimer, the Black Hawk producer who shot the film for 5-1/2 months in Morocco, is also an exec producer of Without A Trace. It debuts Sept. 26 at 10 p.m.

Murciano's folks, Enrique and Cristina, live on Key Biscayne. Dad is an anesthesiologist who runs South Miami Pain Center, and mom sells real estate.
