When actor Enrique Murciano started out, he asked his father for
advice.
"I'm from Miami and always wanted to be an actor," he says. "My dad
told me to graduate from college, and I could be an actor. So I did.
Then he said, 'Go to law school, and you can be an actor.'
"So I went to law school in Boston and left after a year. I just
didn't want to go to law school. ... In his head, the best thing for
me was to be a lawyer or a doctor or an architect.
"He sees the actor as a struggle, and it is. When I decided to
become an actor, he was a bit leery. He really wanted me to be
happy."
And his mom?
"Mom is easy when it comes to things like this," the 29-year-old
says. "As long as I am happy with my decision, she is OK."
He moved to Los Angeles, studied acting and landed roles in "Speed
2" and "Traffic."
His work with executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer on "Black Hawk
Down" opened doors for him when Bruckheimer got involved with
"Without a Trace," new this fall on CBS.
He plays Danny Taylor on the crime action series, which airs at 10
p.m. Thursdays on WVLT, Channel 8.
